Configuring the iPhone & iPad Remote View Client

The latest model Nadatel N Series DVR Systems support remotely viewing live video footage using an iPhone, iPad, or Andriod device, using a wifi or 3G internet connection. This guide outlines the steps required to install the iUMS remote view software for the iPhone or iPAD, as well as configuring the software to connect remotely to a DVR system. Installing the iUMS Client Remote View Software To install the iUMS remote view software for the iPhone, iPad, or Andriod device, you will need to obtain the application from the Apple iTunes store, or the Andriod Market Place. Simply searh for the iUMS client, download and install the application to your selected device. Configuring the iUMS Remote View Software To configure the iUMS remote view software, Start the iUMS application on your device, Tap on the + Button, located at the top right of the screen The following Add Site Form will now be displayed, iUMS iPhone Client Add Site Configuration Tap on Site: and Enter a descriptive name of the DVR location that you are adding to the software Tap on the SAVE button located at the top right hand side of the screen to save the Site name Tap on IP/DNS: and enter the I.P Address provided to you by Symetrix. (If the remote view option was provided) Tap on the SAVE button located at the top right hand side of the screen to save the I.P Address or URL of the DVR that you will be connecing to Tap on Port: and enter 5445 (Note: if you have more than one DVR available at a single site, then the actual value you need to use may differ. Tap on the SAVE button located at the top right hand side of the screen to save the Port used to connect to the selected DVR system Tap on ID: and enter the Username that you wish to use to log in to your DVR system. (NOTE: You can use the default username of admin to connect to your DVR system) Tap on the SAVE button located at the top right hand side of the screen to save the ID / Username used to connect to your DVR system Tap on Password: and enter the password that you use to log in to your DVR system. (NOTE: You can use the default password of 1111 to connect to your DVR system) Tap on the SAVE button located at the top right hand side of the screen to save the Password used to connect to your DVR system Finally, tap on the SAVE button located at the top right hand side of the screen to add the selected DVR and Site information to the iUMS software. The iUMS software will now be configured to connect remotely to your DVR system.

Installing and Configuring the Multi View Client

If you have multiple DVR systems that have been connected and configured to allow remote connections via the Internet, then it is possible to remotely view live video footage from all cameras connected to multiple DVR systems.

This guide outlines the steps required to install the multiple DVR remote view software, configuring the software to connect remotely to one or more DVR systems, and how to use the software to remotely view live video footage.

Installing the Multiple Client Remote View Software

To install the remote view software, you will require a PC, with Windows XP or greater installed.

Insert the supplied CD in to your CD-ROM drive,
Double Click on the “My Computer” Icon on the desktop, UMS Multi Client Installation Icon
Double Click on the CD-ROM drive
Double Click on the UMSMClient_2.1.0.1)100122.exe Icon
The DVR Multi View Software will begin installation.

The Remote Multi View Client can also be downloaded from the Symetrix Support Website.
Visit www.symetrix.com.au/ and click on the Support Link for more details.

The following installation screen will be displayed,

Click the Next Button to Continue,
The following installation screen will now be displayed,

Click the Next Button to Continue,
The software installation will now be completed, and a new software icon will now be displayed on the desktop,

Configuring the Multiple Client Remote View Software

Once the Multiple Client Remote View Software has been installed, it will require configuration as to allow the software to connect to one or more DVR systems.

To configure the software,

Double click on the “UMS Multi Client” Icon located on the desktop UMS Multi Client Installation Icon
The Multiple Client Remote View Software will now open, and the following screen will be displayed,

Click on the following icon, to add a new DVR system to the remote view software

The DVR configuration screen will now be displayed as shown in the figure below

Enter the following information in the fields provided

DVR Type: Select H models for older H.264 DVR systems, and select N models for newer D1 series DVR systems.
Site Name: Enter a name to help describe the DVR location or purpose.
Site Address: Enter the I.P. address used to connect to the DVR system. This address would have been provided by Symetrix if the remote view option was requested during installation.
Port Number: The default port number for the DVR is 5445. If more than one DVR system is sharing the same I.P. address, then this port number will be different.
ID: (N Series DVR Systems Only) The default id is admin. This is the username used to connect to your DVR system
Password: For older H Series DVR Systems, the default password is 11111111 (Eight one digits). For new N Series DVR systems, the default password is 1111
Channels: Select how many Channels / Cameras are connected to the DVR system.
Click the OK Button to add the configured DVR to the software,
The newly added DVR system will now be displayed on the left hand side of the screen.
If you wish to add any further DVR systems to the software, then simply follow steps 3 to 6

Connecting remotely to your DVR system using the supplied software

To connect to your DVR system, your Windows PC will require the software to be installed, the software requires configuration, and an active Internet connection is required.
The following information assumes that the software has been installed and configured to connect to your installed DVR system.
To open the multiple client remote view software, simply double click the icon labelled “UMS Mutli Client” located on your desktop.
The DVR remote view software will now open, and the following screen will be displayed.

Click on the Check-box located at the top left hand side of the screen, as shown in this figure,

Clicking this checkbox will select all the configured DVR systems on the left hand side of the screen.

Next, click on the Connect Button, located on the middle left hand side of the screen

The software will now connect ot the selected DVR systems

Configuring the Mac OSX Remote View Client

This guide outlines the steps required to configure the Mac OSX DVR remote view software, to connect remotely to one or more DVR systems.

Configuring the Mac OSX Remote View Software

Once the Multiple Client Remote View Software has been installed, it will require configuration as to allow the software to connect to one or more DVR systems.

To configure the software,

Double click on the “UMS Client” Icon located on the Launchpad, or locate the UMS Client using Finder by selecting Go -> Applications -> UMS Client
The UMS Client Remote View Software will now open, and the following screen will be displayed,

Click on the the above icon, to add a new DVR system to the remote view software
The DVR configuration screen will now be displayed as shown in the figure below

Click on the empty field as indicated by the arrow shown above, to enter the DVR connection information.
Enter the following information in the fields provided

Name: Enter a name to help describe the DVR location or purpose.
IP/DNS: Enter the I.P. address used to connect to the DVR system. This address would have been provided by Symetrix if the remote view option was requested during installation.
Port: The default port number for the DVR is 5445. If more than one DVR system is sharing the same I.P. address, then this port number will be different.
ID: (N Series DVR Systems Only) The default id is admin. This is the username used to connect to your DVR system
Password: The default password is 1111
The DVR Connection infromation will now be added to the software

UMS OSX Client Main Screen

If required, you can add further DVR system you may wish to connect to, using the same method outlined aboved.
To connect to the newly added DVR system, click on the DVR entry, and click on the SELECT button at the bottom of the form.
The DVR connection information will now be added to the main form.
Click on the Connect Button to connect to the DVR and view live footage.

Searching Footage using the Multi View Client

If you have multiple DVR systems that have been connected and configured to allow remote connections via the Internet, then it is possible to remotely search and backup recorded video footage using the Windows Multi View DVR Software.

This guide assumes that the Windows Multi View Software has been installed, and that at least one DVR system has been added to the software.

Searching Recorded Video Footage using the Multi Client Software

This guide assumes that the Multi View Client Software for Windows has already been installed and configured.

Double click on the “UMS Multi Client” Icon located on the desktop
The Multiple Client Remote View Software will now open, and the following screen will be displayed,

Select the DVR you wish to remotely connect to, by ticking the checkbox located next to the desired DVR.
Click on the Search Button located at the top left hand side of the window.

The DVR Video Footage Search Screen will now be displayed
You should already be connected to the previously selected DVR system.
This will be indicated by a tick next to the required DVR system, as well as a thin blue line beneath the Connection button.

If this is not the case, then simply check the DVR you wish to connect to, and Click on the Connect Button.
Select the Date that you wish to view video footage for.
NOTE: Dates coloured in yellow indicate video footage is available for viewing for that date.

The Hour bar will now display a blue line for any footage that is available for the selected date.

Move the Hour slider to roughly the required start time (Hour) for the video footage you wish to view.
To Play the Video footage, simply press the [PLAY] button located above the hour slider

The selected video footage will now begin playing.
Press the [NEXT] button to skip ahead 1 minute within the video footage
Press the [PREV] button to skip back 1 minute within the video footage
Press the [FF] button to Play the video footage at 2x, 4x, and 8x speed
Press the [FR] button to rewind the video footage at 2x, 4x and 8x speed.

Backing up Video Footage to a PC using the supplied software

Once you have viewed the selected video footage, you can then back this footage up to your local P.C.
Once you have the footage backed up, you can then,
a. View the footage using VLC Media Player,
b. Copy the footage to a USB drive using the P.C.
c. Burn the footage to a blank CD / DVD using the P.C.

Using the above steps, locate the video footage you wish to back up.
Using the Hour slider, select roughly the start time (Hour) that you wish to back up

Next, Click on the Mark In button, located just beneath the connection button.
This will select the start time for the footage that you wish to backup.

Using the Hour slider, select roughly the end time (Hour) that you wish to back up.
Next, click on the Mark Out button, located to the right of the Mark in button.
This will select the end time for the footage that you wish to backup

Finally, Click on the [Backup] button located to the right of the Mark Out Button.
This will open the Video footage backup screen, allowing you to view and modify the backup footage settings.

It is recommended that you backup video footage from one camera at a time.
This will avoid tying up the DVR system for excessive periods of time streaming video footage for backup purposes.
To do this, un-tick the ALL Cameras checkbox, and select only the camera that you wish to save video footage for.

Next, verify the selected start and end times for the video footage.
These settings can be altered if required.
Finally, check the directory in which the video footage will be saved.
NOTE : You may wish to change this directory to your Desktop, to aid in locating the video footage at a later time.
When you are happy with the backup settings, click on the [OK] button to begin
backing up the selected video footage to your PC.
