The Nadatel / enView Standalone 16 Channel DVR System has a number of user configurable functions that are available to the user.

Entering the DVR Setup Menu

The DVR SETUP screen allows you to configure your DVR Device.
1) Press the [SETUP] button on your remote control.
2) The System will prompt you for your password.
the default password for the system is the following,

3) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
The DVR Setup Screen will now be displayed.

Exiting the DVR Setup Menu

Pressing the [ESC] button on your remote control will exit any configuration settings that you may be configuring.

Setting the Date and Time

WARNING : Changing the Date and Time may result in video footage being deleted from the system.
It is recommended that you back up ALL required video footage before using this option !
To change the System Date and Time,
1) Enter the DVR Setup Mode
2) Select the SYSTEM menu option using the arrow buttons on your remote control.
Press the [SELECT] button to enter the selected menu option.
3) Using the Up and Down arrow buttons, select SET DATE / TIME.
4) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
5) Using the Arrow buttons on your remote control, set the required Date and Time.
6) Once Completed, Press the [SELECT] button.
7) The system will ask you to confirm the New Date and Time Settings.
using the left and right arrow buttons, highlight CONFIRM, and Press the [SELECT] button.
8) The New Date and Time Settings will now be saved.
9) The DVR System will now reset itself.
10) Depending on the Date / Time entered, the system may prompt you if it is OK to delete video footage saved in the future. Select OK to continue.

Changing the Administration Password

WARNING : Changing the Administration Password may result in being locked out of the system completely...
Use this option with CAUTION !!!
To change the Administration Password,
1) Enter the DVR Setup Mode
2) Select the SYSTEM menu option using the arrow buttons on your remote control.
Press the [SELECT] button to enter the selected menu option.
3) Using the Up and Down arrow buttons, select ADMIN PASSWORD.
4) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
5) Using the Arrow buttons on your remote control, enter the current admin password.
6) Once Completed, Press the [SELECT] button.
7) The system will ask you for the New admin password.
using the arrow buttons, enter a combination of four arrow button presses.
8) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
9) The system will prompt you to confirm the new admin password.
using the arrow buttons, enter the same combination of four arrow button presses as above.
10) Press the [SELECT] button to save the new admin password.
11) Press the [ESC] button to exit the Admin Password Menu Option.

Changing the Recording Quality

Depending on your requirements, you can change the recording quality in a number of ways to allow for either of the following options.
* Increase the Resolution to record more detailed video footage.
* Increase the Frame Rate, to reduce choppy, strobed, or robotic like footage. * Decrease one or more of these settings to increase the number of days video footage can be recorded.
NOTE : Increasing the resolution or frame rate will decrease the total number of days video footage will be stored for....
To change the Recording Quality,
1) Enter the DVR Setup Mode
2) Select the RECORD menu option using the arrow buttons on your remote control.
Press the [SELECT] button to enter the selected menu option.
3) Using the Up and Down arrow buttons, select the RESOLUTION Menu Option.
RESOLUTION Determines how clear the recorded video footage is.
The Higher the Resolution, the more crisp and clear the recorded footage will be, however the maximum frame rate for each recorded channel will be reduced to 6 frames per second.
4) Using the Left and Right arrow buttons, select the required Resolution for the recorded video.
5) Press the Down Arrow Button to Highlight the CHANNEL menu option.
6) Using the Left and Right Arrow Buttons, select the required Channel (Camera Number) you wish to change the recording settings for.
7) Once the Channel or Camera Number has been selected, Use the Up and Down Arrow Buttons to select the FRAME RATE Menu Option.
8) Using the Left and Right Arrow buttons, select the desired Frame Rate for the selected channel.
NOTE : If the resolution has been set for 704 x 576, then the maximum frame rate for each camera should not exceed 6 f/s
If the resolution has been set for 352 x 288, then the maximum frame rate for each camera should not exceed 25 f/s
FRAME RATE Determines how jerky the recorded video footage is.
The Higher the Frame Rate, the more fluid motion will appear.
9) Once the Desired Frame Rate has been selected, Use the Up and Down Arrow Buttons to select the QUALITY Menu Option.
10) Using the Left and Right Arrow buttons, select the desired Recording Quality for the selected channel.
NOTE : The higher the recording quality selected, the more drive space the video footage will consume.
QUALITY Determines the amount of compression that is used for the video footage.
The Higher the QUALITY, the less smeared video footage and motion will appear.
11) Using the Up and Down Arrow Buttons select the CHANNEL menu option.
12) Using the Left and Right Arrow buttons, select any other channels (Cameras) that you would like to change recording settings for. 13) Continue changing the Recording settings for each channel as required.
14) Once Completed, Press the [ESC] button. 15) Using the Arrow Buttons, select the SAVE SETUP menu option.
16) Press the [SELECT] button to save the Recording Setup.
17) Press the [ESC] button to exit the SETUP Menu, and return to normal DVR operation.

Configuring Motion Detection

Motion Detection allows for more video footage to be saved, only when movement has been detected by the DVR System.
This allows for a longer duration of video footage to be saved, without affecting saved video quality.
To Enable Motion Detection on a Camera,
1) Enter the DVR Setup Mode
2) Select the RECORD menu option using the arrow buttons on your remote control.
Press the [SELECT] button to enter the selected menu option.
3) Press the Down Arrow Button to Highlight the CHANNEL menu option.
4) Using the Left and Right Arrow Buttons, select the required Channel (Camera Number) you wish to enable / disable motion detection settings for.
5) Once the Channel or Camera Number has been selected, Use the Up and Down Arrow Buttons to select the RECORDING Menu Option.
8) Using the Left and Right Arrow buttons, select the BY MOTION to enable motion detection, or.
Select CONTINUOUS to disable motion detection recording.
9) Once the Desired Recording mode has been selected, Use the Up and Down Arrow Buttons to select the MOTION ZONE Menu Option.
10) Using the Left and Right Arrow buttons, select the desired Motion zone for the selected channel.
MOTION ZONE : Full Zone
If this menu option is selected, then the DVR will use the entire video area to detect movement for motion recording.
MOTION ZONE : Partial Zone
If this menu option is selected, then the DVR will use only a selected video area to detect movement for motion recording.
NOTE : Press the [SELECT] button to configure the area for Partial Zone Motion Detection.
11) Once the Desired Motion Zone has been selected, Use the Up and Down Arrow Buttons to select the MOTION SENSITIVITY Menu Option.
12) Using the Left and Right Arrow buttons, select the desired Motion sensitivity for the selected channel.
1 = Least Sensitive
9 = Most Sensitive
13) Using the Up and Down Arrow Buttons select the CHANNEL menu option.
14) Using the Left and Right Arrow buttons, select any other channels (Cameras) that you would like to change recording settings for. 15) Continue changing the Recording settings for each channel as required.
16) Once Completed, Press the [ESC] button. 17) Using the Arrow Buttons, select the SAVE SETUP menu option.
18) Press the [SELECT] button to save the Recording Setup.
19) Press the [ESC] button to exit the SETUP Menu, and return to normal DVR operation.

Viewing Video Footage

Recorded Video footage can be viewed using the following procedure,
1) Press the [SEARCH] button on your remote control.
2) The System will prompt you what kind of video search you require.
For this example, we will use the TIMELINE SEARCH
3) Using the Up and Down arrow buttons, select the TIMELINE SEARCH Menu Option.
4) Press the [SELECT] button on the Remote Control.
5) The system will now display a calendar, requesting for the date for the archived video footage.
6) Select the desired date using the Arrow Buttons on the remote control.
6) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
7) The System will now display the available footage for the date selected.
The Upper four bars represent what hours video footage is available for the selected date.
The Lower four bars represent the Minutes within the selected hour, video footage is available for.
8) Using the Arrow buttons on your remote control, select the required Hour for the Video Footage.
NOTE : Available Video footage for each camera will be displayed as a RED Line on the Numbered Bar
9) Using the Up and Down Arrows, select the required camera for the video footage by highlighting the Camera Number on the Lower Bars.
NOTE : The first option will display ALL cameras.
10) Using the Left and Right Arrow Buttons, select the Start time for the Video footage you wish to view.
11) When ready, press the [SELECT] button to begin viewing video footage.
12) At this time, you can use the following buttons to control the playback of the Video footage.
F/REW : When pressed, will rewind the video footage.
PLAY : When pressed, will pause or play the video footage.
F/ADV : When pressed, will forward the video footage.
REW : When pressed, will change the rewind speed on playback.
FF : When pressed, will change the play speed on playback.
13) Once viewing is completed, you can exit this mode by pressing the [ESC] button 5 times.

Archiving Video Footage

Archiving Video footage allows you to permanently save video footage on the DVR unit.
Archived footage will not be automatically written over by the DVR, and is available for viewing at any time.
Video footage can be archived using the following procedure,
1) Press the [SEARCH] button on your remote control.
2) The System will prompt you what kind of video search you require.
For this example, we will use the TIMELINE SEARCH
3) Using the Up and Down arrow buttons, select the TIMELINE SEARCH Menu Option.
4) Press the [SELECT] button on the Remote Control.
5) The system will now display a calendar, requesting for the date for the archived video footage.
6) Select the desired date using the Arrow Buttons on the remote control.
6) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
7) The System will now display the available footage for the date selected.
The Upper four bars represent what hours video footage is available for the selected date.
The Lower four bars represent the Minutes within the selected hour, video footage is available for.
8) Using the Arrow buttons on your remote control, select the required Hour for the Video Footage.

10) Using the Left and Right Arrow Buttons, select the Start time for the Video footage you wish to view.
11) When ready, press the [SELECT] button to begin viewing video footage.
12) At this time, you can use the following buttons to control the playback of the Video footage.

PLAY : When pressed, will pause or play the video footage.

13) To Archive the selected video footage, press the [ARCHIVE] button on the Remote.
14) The system will prompt you if you would like to Archive a still image (Picture) or Video.
Use the Left and Right arrow buttons on the remote control to select the desired option.
15) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
16) If the VIDEO option was selected, the system will prompt you for the total duration (In Minutes) for video you wish to Archive.
Use the Arrow Buttons on your remote control to enter the required duration (Length of video from the selected position) to archive.
17) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
18) The selected video footage will now be archived on the DVR system.
19) Once archiving has completed, you can exit this mode by pressing the [ESC] button 5 times.

Saving Archived Footage to a USB Device

Once Video footage has been flagged for archival, it is possible to save the Video Footage to a USB device such as a USB Memory stick, or a USB CD Burner.
To save Video footage to a USB device,
1) Press the Search Button on the Remote Control.
2) Using the Up and Down Arrow Buttons, select Archive from the List.
3) Press the [SELECT] button on the Remote Control.
4) The system will now display a calendar, requesting for the date for the archived video footage.
5) Select the desired date using the Arrow Buttons on the remote control.
6) Press the [SELECT] button to continue.
7) The System will now display the available archived footage for the date selected.
8) Use the Up and Down Arrow buttons to select the footage required.
9) Press the [SELECT] button to continue. 10) The System will now display the archived footage.
11) Press the [ARCHIVE] button on the remote control. 12) If Video Footage has been selected, the System will prompt you for the Format you wish to save the footage in.
AVI is the most widely supported format and is recommended.
Choose the required format using the Left or Right arrow buttons, and Press [SELECT]
13) The System will now prompt you for what USB device you wish to save to.
Connect the USB device to the DVR USB Port, and select the device type using the left or right arrow buttons.
14) Press [SELECT] to continue.
15) The Video Footage will now be saved to your USB device.
