Access Control Systems

How can you allow people to have freedom to come and go without compromising the security of an area?

Many people in a place of authority need more control over who enters or exits multiple areas.

Whether you are a CEO of a corporation who needs to secure special areas of the building or even a parent with teenagers who needs to know that the house is secure at all times and knowing that the kids can get in and out without having to worry about keys, access control can make you are informed and have control.

At Symetrix our Access control systems log who enters where, are remote controllable and have a number os different options to suit your budget and needs.

Keypad access control will allow multiple people to access one area, although this is not as secure as other methods due to the fact that the combination may be shared with other people.

Card and Tag Access control is a cost effective and secure method of controlling multiple areas as well as logging who accesses them. Each person has a different Card or Tag which has its own unique ID number, this ID number identifies them to the system and ensures that you can trace their movements if needed.

Biometric access control can be much more complicated, have multiple verification points, management software, scheduling and multiple access points!

There is however a simple, stand alone single door system that you can purchase from a hobby store, although when it comes to biometric access control, it is recommended that unless you have the budget for a multiple verification point, high security system, a card / tag access control system is actually a more beneficial and cost effective security solution.

At Symetrix we also offer integration between your Alarm system, Security camera system, access control system and Intercom system. Ask us for more information if you are interested in our Complete Custom System!

keypad access control

Keypad Access Control
Keypad access control is a simple, very low cost solution to allowing a small number of users access to a single, semi secure area.
Keypad access control systems are typically not as secure as a card/tag or biometric access control system as access pin codes can be shared, leaked, and published.
Because a PIN code is all that is required to gain access to the area, it is recommended that these systems are not used for areas requiring high security, or access by many people.

access control cards

Card and Tag Access Control
A cost effective and secure method of controlling access to one or more areas.
Each person is allocated a unique proximity tag or card, which identifies the person to the access control system.
When a proximity card or tag is swiped, the system will then attempt to identify the person, and ascertain if the have access privileges for the selected door, as well as if they are allowed to access the selected door according to the access schedule.
Finally, after these checks have been completed, the access control system will unlock, or open the door, allowing access to the secure area.
The attempted access will be logged, along with the person, date, time, and whether access was granted or revoked.

biometrix access control

Biometric Access Control
Generally there are two types of biometric access control systems available.
High security, integrated multi door biometric access control systems, requiring two or more verification points, with management software, scheduling, and anti pass-back measures are some of the most secure access control systems available today.
The second type of biometric access control systems are the stand alone, single door biometric devices prevalent at some electronic hobby stores. These systems can be less secure, and cost more to install than a typical card and tag system.
When it comes to biometric access control, it is recommended that unless you have the budget for a multiple verification point, high security system, a card / tag access control system is actually a more beneficial and cost effective security solution.

Integrated alarm access control

Integrated Alarm and Access Control
Symetrix can provide a modular integrated hardware platform offering you an expandable, flexible and highly secure Access Control, Security/Intruder Detection and Automation package.
Using an Inner Range Concept 4000, or a GE Tecom Challenger security system, Symetrix can provide your business with a single point, highly configurable access control system, with alarm functionality.
Access to areas can be granted, or rejected based on the arming state for an area. Areas can be armed using both a 4 digit user code, or by double swiping a proximity card or tag.
Users can be granted door access to single doors, areas, or the entire system, as well as having the ability to arm and disarm selected areas.
An alarm can sound, back to base monitoring alerted, and selected users sent an SMS message when unauthorised access has been forced for a protected area, as well as view security log reports via the keypad, or a connected PC.
